Why
Mawan Port, a site rich with fishing harbor history, transforms into a hub of smart technology. This design uses the “sail” as its core symbol, linking the waterfront’s past with its future, and reflecting Qianhai’s “integrating mountains, sea, and city” vision.

At the Urban Scale (XL), a landmark “hoisted sail” is created through a curved, ascending form that symbolizes Qianhai’s dynamic growth.

The Community Scale (L) introduces warm-toned organic materials like bamboo and wood grain, softening the modern aesthetic and creating a unique identity.

The Street Scale (M) uses organic curves to echo the mountains and sea, while terraced forms mirror the urban skyline, creating a harmonious transition.

The Human Scale (S) offers a multi-layered journey. Two staircases provide distinct experiences: one of natural curves, the other of urban terraces, enhanced by comfortable, shaded pathways.

This multi-scale approach fuses Mawan’s history, Qianhai’s vision, and modern innovation into a landmark art installation that is both human-centered and futuristic.
